Album cover analysis

An album cover is the front of the packaging of a commercially-released audio recording product, or album.

The cover of an album is a marketing tool of the artist, its important as it serves the purpose of advertising the artist, and to serve a primary image in the promotional efforts surrounding the product. Example of an good album cover: Disable Artifact in its Own right.

The printed covers typically used to package sets of 10" and 12"rpm records and single sets of 12"Lp's, sets of 45 rpm records.

The Beatles Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

For our artist, 'Orphan' the album cover will cover; fabulous 2009 single from the loso's way, 'When the money goes' featuring Jay-z.

We chose this artist and song because are artist 'Orphan' addresses some the issues in the song.

For our photo shoot for are artist, we decided it should be set in a cemetery because in are artists life, he lost his parents at a young age and he lived a hard life, he decided to change his life around and now has joined the music industry. For remembrance he goes to a cemetery to visit his parents, that's why we based the shoot there.

Our initals ideas was to make our target audience see a bad boy image but yet an artists that struggled to get where he has become, allowing him to stand out the crowd.

With the album cover, i think we could of worked on it a bit more by adjusting a few changes, like the colour of the background with are artist and the text, could of been more artistic.
